Whisky

Distillerie des Marigots produces, in small batches, a single malt whisky, meaning that the bottles contains only whisky produced by the distillery, made exclusively from malted barley. Moreover, the grain used is grown and malted in Quebec.

Whisky production has started in the winter of 2021.

To comply with the Canadian legal requirement for the name “whisky”, once distilled, the alcohol is transferred to oak barrels and must remain there for at least three years. It is this ageing process that allows the alcohol to develop maturity and flavour, through contact with the oak wood and oxygen. Our whisky will therefore only be available for sale in 2025.

Several types of casks are used to age whisky; they include new American oak casks and others that have contained products such as sherry, port or rum, allowing for more particular aromas.
